So now I'm chilling with a JD & diet and Derp-Cat on my lap, and decided to share a little humor with y'all.
A while back J. did a series of 3-panel strips called Borderland Disco. What most people don't know is that the name comes from my tendency to mishear song lyrics in surrealist ways. That one in particular comes from Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone". I know I'm mishearing half that frigging song, but it amuses me so much I don't really want to learn the correct lyrics. But I figured I'd share mine with you for a laugh.
(Spoken): Somewhere in New Orleans, I was rollin with some guy and he realized that eternal flavor's turned his light on, here.
It's 2 AM, fear is gone
I'm sittin here waitin', gun's still warm
Pimpin' my connection, it's tired of taking the chances.
Yeah there's a storm on the loose, sunbeams in my head
Wrapped up in silence, all circuits are dead
Cannot drink Coke, my whole life spins into a frenzy
Am I slippin' into the Twilight Zone?
Faces in their house, feels like being blown
My beat knows their moves, and the movie star
Where am I to go, now that I've gone too far?
Soon you will come and go
When the bullet hits the bone
I'm fallin' down a spiral, destination unknown
Fell across a messenger, all alone
Can't get no connection, can't get through
Where are you?
Well the night wing's are heavy on a guilty man
Disco from the borderlands
When the headman comes, he knows damn well he has been cheated
