The kitten Peekaboo from "Rose is Rose". This was one of the first icons I ever made, because although I find the strip to be more and more pointlessly sappy as the years pass, this image was the perfect representation of frustration and annoyance to me, so that's what I use it for.
The glorious 25th of May! Terry Pratchett's "Night Watch" is one of the best books he's ever written, if not THE best. It focuses on the history of the Watch in Discworld's Ankh-Morpork and the part they played in the Revolution that shaped the world as it is now. The rebel fighters put sprigs of lilac in their caps to identify one another, and sang "All the Little Angels Rise Up, Rise Up" as a marching song. There's a lot more to it, but you'd have to read the book to really understand. It's my default icon for May 25, and anything relating to that particular book.
Oh man. One of the funniest things I've ever read on LJ, mainly because I can completely see myself doing the exact same thing. I use this for social awkwardness, or anything bee-related.
My knitting icon! I can't even remember where I found it, but it made me laugh myself nearly into a sprain because I've SO been there. Usually on DPNs, though. "Why are you strangling a hedgehog?"
Richard! He's the snarky undead warlock in the webcomic Looking For Group, which started basically as a WoW parody but has gained its own life since then. Since I play a snarky undead warlock in WoW, I of course adore him, and this is my icon for WoW-related stuff.
SPOILER ALERT! ;D So, yeah, huge Firefly fan and that part of "Serenity" really hit me hard. The quote is actually what was used at the end of each episode of "Cowboy Bebop", and it struck me as appropriate. I use this for Firefly-related posts and general farewells.
